I chose to work with Indian Lingua due to their stellar reviews and because I have some familiarity with Jaipur/Rajasthan. As an adolescent, I spent time in India and picked up some Hindi, but after college, I neglected to maintain or improve my language skills. Recently, after almost 20 years of not speaking Hindi, and forgetting almost everything I’d learned, I decided to return to the language. For the last several months, I’ve been studying Hindi with Mukesh, and I’ve had an excellent experience thus far! Although I’m not particularly adept at learning new languages, I’m making steady progress. It’s easy to schedule lessons via the Indian Lingua website, and Mukesh has been very accommodating of my busy schedule. In addition to being a kind and generous person/teacher, Mukesh has a knack for making our lessons engaging and fun. He incorporates my interests, like Hindi TV shows and current events/politics, into our conversations, keeping me motivated and expanding my vocabulary and grammar. No matter how many mistakes I make, Mukesh remains patient and encouraging. Although I find speaking especially daunting, it gets easier each time we meet. While my ultimate goal of reading poetry in Hindi and Urdu is still a long way off, I'm optimistic that with continued lessons I’ll be able to achieve that level of fluency. Indian Lingua hast fast-tracked my journey of learning Hindi. I can totally recommend this school! I have been studying online with Mukesh for a few months now. Even after the first class, which was a free trial half an hour class, I was able to speak a few sentences. Now, after a few months, I'm able to speak real conversations! There is still so much more to learn, but I never experienced such a good system of learning which actually works. Not just learning words, but learning new grammar every week with vocabulary categories that accompany these well, and then integrate this in the lessons. Mukesh always gives weekly homework to practice what has been learned in the class and makes a special file for me so I can learn even faster. I'd love to join an in-person immersion course one day, but for now these online classes suit my needs very well, and I'm in the beginning of the second course, which is upper beginners Hindi. This past two weeks had been a great experience studying in Jaipur, both Mukesh and Rishi are great instructor they have a lot of experience teaching have a great sytem of explanation of subjects and they help you understand well. I have been studying Hindi with Rishi and Mukesh for about four months now, while living in Jaipur for an immersion course. I only have positive comments to say about this school! When I first arrived, I knew only a simple “namaste” and “dhanyavaad.” Now, I can confidently speak with local people, engage in thoughtful conversations with friends, order food in restaurants, occasionally bargain in shops, and even direct rickshaw drivers. I wanted to learn Hindi because of how useful it will be for the future, knowing it has millions of speakers across the world. I was able to practice my hindi with them, and they ensured my entire stay was comfortable. I got to even go on trips to nearby cities and truly put my Hindi into action. I took on online introductory course with Indian lingua and have enjoyed my private classes very much. The approach is very hands-on and allows the use of standard basic sentences right away. The app provides a lot of material for further expansion of vocabulary.
